Why on Earth did BlackBerry hire Alicia Keys?
The celebrity creative director has become a surprisingly common move, but it usually happens at downtrodden brands like Polaroid (Lady Gaga) or Reebok (Keys’ husband, Swizz Beats). In fact, BlackBerry already played this card themselves, bringing Will.i.am on stage for their 2010 keynote. On some level, it’s strictly a vanity play, a way of making an endorsement deal seem like something more than it really is. How much does will.i.am really have to offer Intel, in the way of creative advice? Is Lady Gaga helping Polaroid to build a better product?
Because Intel got Will.I.Am
HTC thinks a second tiny phone is the answer to your oversized smartphone complaints
HTC’s designers seem to be cognizant of the fact that smartphones are growing too large for some people to use comfortably, but the company is taking a truly bizarre approach in trying to rectify the problem. Meet the HTC Mini, an NFC / Bluetooth-enabled device that’s now being bundled with the 5-inch HTC Butterfly in China.
My efforts to express my displeasure at Cricket Australia for limting ABC Grandstand’s ability to stream their excellent radio commentary through their mobile app has been thwarted by CA not allowing posts on their page. Ohh well, at least Vodafone Australia allow posts.
It can’t be long till someone steps in to stop this kind of arbitrary limitions on mobile Internet and online inovation (Optus cloud based DVR….) / It’s only a matter of time till those in power that didn’t grow up with the Internet die off.
In the meantime I will continue to enjoy ABC Grandstand on my phone despite what CA and Vodafone want, which is for me to not listen to them but suffer through the endless, mindless drivel from the Channel 9. #FirstWorldProblems
